SENIOR CLASS
1959 - 1960

"Of all the wonderful, exciting, and bewildering experiences that confront a person in high school, none is quite so exciting, or even quite so bewildering as the senior year.  It is a year filled with friendships which have been knit by common experiences in the familiar halls of Pensacola High School with what may be the greatest feeling of belonging that a person ever knows.  It is a year filled with pep rallies, bonfires, and never-to-be forgotten football and basketball games, the junior-senior dance, and graduation. There have been bad times, certainly, but as we look back on our final year of high school, let us forget that which is not so pleasant, remembering only the good times, the laughter, and the fun.

Although time will cause many of the memories to grow dim, although distance will separate us from Pensacola High School and each other, although far greater and more important experiences will crowd every life, what we have learned and what we have shared will never be forgotten, but rather will grow brighter and closer to the heart and mind of every senior who has graduated from Pensacola High School this year."         ANNONA

OUTSTANDING SENIORS

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

"The National Honor Society is founded on the principle that true education creates a well rounded personality in the development of the character of the individual and in his relations to those around him.  Students who are building in their school life the foundation of character, scholarship, leadership and service are honored by membership in the National Honor Society.  A special faculty committee selects the members at Pensacola High School.  In nominating the candidates, the committee ascertains that the student is of good character, that he has at least a B average, that he displays leadership abilities at school and at home, and he is a member of two school sponsored clubs.  Only ten percent of seniors can become members.  The National Honor Society feels that it is recognizing worthy students, not only for their past achievements but also for their promise of continued service and scholaship."
