Friday, June 3, 1960...Graduation Day! Parents and students gathered at the Municipal Auditorium, and we began our walk down the aisle to receive our diplomas at 7:30 pm. In the words of the Beach Boys song: "There's a time for joy, a time for tears, a time we'll treasure through the years. We'll remember always graduation day." I'm sure many of us couldn't wait to shed our caps and gowns and get to our graduation after parties.
CLASS SONG
(Tune: Auld Lang Syne)
Farewell to thee, our PHS,
We love thy grounds, thy halls.
We are thy children, thee our guide;
We love thee one and all.
You've led us on through youth and fear;
You've taught us how to love,
To live and laugh and work for all,
To strive for goals above.
Oh, true to thee through all our life
We'll hold thy banners high;
We'll love thee long in peace and truth
Until the day we die.
You've taught us how to face the world,
To reach up for the sky,
We pledge our lives, our loves, our dreams
To Pensacola High.
ALMA MATER
Hail to thee, our Alma Mater,
True to thee we'll be.
To thy teachings and thy standards,
True eternally.
Pensacola, Pensacola
Is our ringing cry;
Loyal to our Alma Mater,
Pensacola High.
As we gather here together,
We thy praises sing;
Like a challenge down the future,
Proudly let them ring.
Pensacola, Pensacola
Is our ringing cry;
Loyal to our Alma Mater,
Pensacola High
